Welcome to Campo Grande, your gateway to the Pantanal. Your driver will be waiting for you at the airport. Depart for your 3-hour transfer to the Aguapé Lodge. The lodge, which has been in same family for 150 years, was a cattle farm until 1989 when it diversified its activities introducing ecological tourism and fishing. Located in a rich area formed by the typical wetland vegetation (cerrado), lakes, lowlands, and the exuberant Aquidauana River, guests are welcomed throughout the year. At Aguapé you will wake up with the song of birds and, if you wish, milk the cows in the early morning, with the sunrise. Check- in and relax before dinner. Tonight, depart for your first activity: the observance of Pantanal’s night life.  Some animals like anteaters, foxes, capybaras and caimans only come out after sunset. In the absolute silence you will hear the croaking of the frogs and the sounds of different insects, as well as observe the behavior of some nocturnal creatures. Overnight in the lodge. [D]
Day 2: Pantanal
After breakfast, board your 4 x 4 jeep to explore the further areas of the Pantanal.  During your photographic safari you will ride through different landscapes such as the swamps and bays which are permanently flooded areas.  Return to the main house for lunch and time to rest. Later in the afternoon, explore the Pantanal by horse to experience how cattle farming is done here. The horses are well trained, and even if you have never ridden a horse before, you will appreciate this tour. Back for dinner, your evening is at leisure. [B/L/D]
